Grand Lodge of California Charities
The California Masonic Foundation is the main charitable arm of the Grand Lodge of California. It is the clearinghouse for all the charitable activity of the Grand Lodge, and oversees the distribution of funds to all the charitable programs the Grand Lodge Supports.Considered the Crown Jewel of California Masonry’s charities, the Masonic Homes of California provide world-class care for residents at both the Union City and Covina campuses, including specialized nursing facilities, memory care, and general living options. Elderly Masons and their partners/widows in need of specialized healthcare, housing, or memory care can apply to the Homes for relief, safe in the knowledge that once gathered in, they will never need fear being turned out, and that the Brethren of California will take care of them.The Masonic Center for Youth and Families provides therapy for Masons and non-masons alike, offering affordable or even free mental health services on a sliding pay scale where none are ever turned away due to cost. They help children, teens, and families handle trauma, mental illness, and other issues.Masons 4 Mitts is a program that partners with the foundations of the 4 Major League Baseball teams in California (San Diego Padres, San Francisco Giants, Anaheim Angels, and Los Angeles Dodgers) to donate baseball mitts to underprivileged youth. For every $20 a Mason donates through the program, a $70 baseball glove is donated to a child, along with services aimed at keeping children out of gangs, helping them with educational success, and teaching them teamwork and discipline through sports.
