There are 3 Masonic Youth Orders, one for boys and two for girls. You can find information and links to these below:
Order of DeMolay
The Order of DeMolay, named for the last Grand Master of the original Knights Templar, is the Masonic Youth Order for boys aged 12-21. Chapters in this region are under the Southern California Jurisdiction, but they all are governed by an international ruling body, composed of young men chosen from various regional Jurisdictions along with Master Masons acting as advisors.
DeMolay teaches leadership and discipline to its members, along with instilling in these young men the seven principle values or cardinal virtues of good character: Filial Love, Reverence, Courtesy, Comradeship, Fidelity, Cleanness, and Patriotism.
Alumni of DeMolay may go on to join the Masons or not as they so choose upon reaching the age of maturity. Many stay active as advisors or chapter dads in the organization for decades after graduating from its ranks as youth members.
Job’s Daughters
Job’s Daughters is one of two Masonic Youth orders for girls. Designed to help girls bloom, lead, and soar in their present and future lives, Job’s Daughters teaches girls how to conduct business, gain self-confidence and self-esteem, study and excel at anything they put their minds to, and succeed in all their future endeavors, as well as providing a place for girls to make lifelong friends and connections.
Note: While not technically denominational, it is well known and agreed that Job’s Daughters has an overt Christian tilt and undertone. If that is an issue for you or your family, consider looking into the Rainbow Girls (below)
International Order of the Rainbow for Girls
The International Order of the Rainbow for Girls prepares girls for responsible and purposeful adulthood through character and leadership development, encouraging unselfish service and higher ideals in life, and promoting teamwork and effective interpersonal communications.
The organization holds events, training, and charity work of many kinds to help enrich the lives of the girls who join it.
