Each year, Masons around California join together to donate baseball Mitts to children in need and at risk. In partnership with the 4 Major League Baseball (MLB) Teams in California, the Dodgers, Angles, Padres, and Giants, and their respective foundations, Masons help these children reach for a brighter future by engaging in sports, learning teamwork and discipline, attending programs and activities, and having a safe place to go after school. For a donation of only $20, a child receives a leather baseball mitt worth ~$70, emblazoned with the Masons of California Logo.
In the nature of friendly competition, the various Lodges are divided into different teams based on geographic location and team affiliation, each striving to raise the most money and donate the most. Regardless of which team wins each year, the children end up as the real winners, because more mitts donated means more children can participate in the program each year. We are proud at Ionic Composite to have a long history of generous donation to this program, and our own Treasurer Worshipful Bernie Morse is one of the Team Captains of the Media Central Titans, working in conjunction with the Los Angeles Dodgers Dream Team foundation.
